Ready-made projects you can start right away, a guide that shows one step per screen and counts checked by a deterministic engine. And if you have a photo of a piece you love, Crochet AI reconstructs a pattern you can follow.

Hi, I'm Lana!I'll walk you through, stitch by stitch. If you get stuck, just ask.

12 of 12 projects are level L1: our deterministic validator checked every count.
Covers are illustrative AI-generated images: they show how the finished piece should look, they are not photos of real makes. In the app every project has its own page: materials, colors, hook, stitches and techniques, then “Start project”.
Step-by-step guide
Every round becomes a clear step, written in full and with the right numbers. No abbreviations to decode, no lost rows.
How many stitches and which ones stand out at a glance. Repeats and color changes are written in full.
At the end of each step you know how many stitches you should have: the number comes from the validator, not from an AI.
Where to place the marker, when to insert the eyes, how to change color without a jog.
Tap a stitch to see how it's made and its name in US, UK, Italian and Spanish.
Count as you go: you always know how many stitches are left in the round.
She answers about the exact step you're on. And with 👍 or 👎 you tell us whether the instructions are clear.

Tools
Simple tools, made for people working with their hands full.

One tap per stitch. It knows how many stitches the round should have, so you see at once how many are left. Works offline too.

Import a PDF you already own: it becomes a project with step-by-step guidance and a counter, with its own verification level.
The AI helper knows your project and the round you're on. Like any AI she can be wrong, but she never touches the verified counts.

An American “double crochet” is not a British one. The glossary shows names, abbreviations and symbols side by side.
| Symbol | US | UK | IT | ES |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| scsingle crochet | dcdouble crochet | mbmaglia bassa | pbpunto bajo | |
| hdchalf double crochet | htrhalf treble crochet | mmamezza maglia alta | mpamedio punto alto | |
| dcdouble crochet | trtreble crochet | mamaglia alta | papunto alto | |
| trtreble crochet | dtrdouble treble crochet | madmaglia alta doppia | padpunto alto doble |
For example: what US patterns call “sc” is “dc” in UK patterns.
Short videos for every stitch. Each one is published only after a crochet expert has checked it.
Snap a piece you love: we reconstruct a workable pattern and tell you what is verified and what is an assumption.
How it worksMaterials as ranges
Yarn in meters and grams, skeins rounded up.
Export to PDF
A4 or Letter, in the terminology you chose.
Offline
Downloaded projects and the counter work without a connection.
Three languages
Italian, Spanish and English, with US or UK terms set separately.
From photo to pattern
No magic: a careful analysis, the right questions and a rigorous check of every count.
We don't promise an exact copy of an original pattern: a photo can't give you that. We promise transparency.
One photo is enough to start. Front, back, bottom and a close-up help a lot. Your photos stay private.
The AI looks at category, shape, texture and candidate stitches, and honestly flags the parts it cannot see.
It only asks what really changes the result: size, yarn, gauge. You can always answer “I don't know”.
Row-by-row instructions with stitch counts, materials estimated as ranges and a clearly visible verification level.
One step per screen, a stitch counter and Lana, who answers about the exact stitch you're on.

A real example: counts checked by our deterministic validator.
How wide should the finished piece be?
With “I don't know” we use a stated assumption, which you can correct at any time.
The difference
Every pattern shows a verification level. It's not a made-up percentage: it tells you who or what checked the pattern, and how.
Assigned by: Generated by AI
A reconstruction with stated assumptions, not yet validated. We flag it prominently: use it with care.
Assigned by: Automatic validator
Syntax, stitch counts, repeats and dependencies checked by a deterministic engine, not by an AI.
Assigned by: Human review
Stitch, gauge and measurements checked on a real, documented swatch.
Assigned by: Expert tester
Made in full by a tester, with notes and photos, after a review process.
An AI can't grade itself: L1 comes only from the validator, L2 and L3 only from people.
The same goes for ready-made projects and imported PDFs: the level you see is the one the validator actually computed.
For each feature we tell you how sure the photo analysis is (low, medium or high) and why. It's separate from the level: a pattern can have verified counts even if the bottom wasn't visible in the photo.
Stitch
Confidence: high
Why: Sharp texture, repeated across several photos
Shape
Confidence: medium
Why: No side view yet
Base
Confidence: low
Why: The bottom isn't visible: add a photo from below
Assembly
Confidence: medium
Why: The seams are hidden by the handle
Chains, slip stitch, single, half double, double and treble crochet, increases and decreases, magic ring, single-loop work, color changes and repeats. Puff, popcorn, shell, post stitches and other techniques stay at draft level (L0), with a warning.

Privacy
We process the bare minimum, and we tell you so plainly.
Photos and PDFs are stored privately and open only through expiring links. Imported PDFs are deleted after the import.
We strip GPS location and the other data hidden in your photos.
We don't use photos, patterns or conversations to train models unless you explicitly opt in.
If you delete a project or your account, we also delete the related photos and files.
For the analysis, photos and PDF text are processed by an external AI provider (currently OpenAI) only to answer your request.

FAQ
No, and be wary of anyone who promises that. A photo can't reliably recover the original stitch sequence, the tension, hidden parts or how the piece was assembled. Crochet AI reconstructs a workable, verifiable pattern, states its assumptions and asks you for the missing information.
They're all free and all level L1: the deterministic validator checked every count. The covers, however, are illustrative AI-generated images: they show how the finished piece should look, and the app always labels them as such.
That a deterministic engine, not an AI, checked the pattern's syntax, counts, repeats and dependencies and found no errors. It doesn't mean the result will be identical to the original: that's what L2 (swatch verified) and L3 (physically tested) are for, and only people can assign them.
Yes, if the file is yours or you have the right to use it, for example a pattern you bought or wrote. The PDF stays private, is read only to create your project and is deleted after the import; a file that is uploaded but never imported is removed within 24 hours. The extracted text is processed by the AI provider only for this request. The imported pattern gets its level from the validator, like every other one, and the import uses part of your free monthly credits.
She's the app's mascot and the name of its AI helper. Lana answers questions about your project and the step you're on. Being an AI, she can be wrong: that's why the counts are always checked by the validator, never by Lana.
Today the validator covers chains, slip stitch, single, half double, double and treble crochet, increases and decreases, magic ring, front- or back-loop work, color changes and repeats. Puff, popcorn, bobble, shell, picot, post stitches, Tunisian and filet crochet stay at draft level (L0), with a warning, until they are supported.
Yes. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. Ready-made projects, the guide and the counter are free to use; AI operations (photo analysis, PDF import, questions to Lana) use free monthly credits that top up every month.
Yes, independently of the app language. English patterns use the US or UK terms you prefer, and the glossary always shows the Italian and Spanish equivalents too.
They're on the way: short videos for every stitch, linked from the guide's stitch cards. Each video is published only after a crochet expert has checked it; until then you won't see it in the app.
They're private by default, EXIF metadata is removed and we don't use them to train models without your explicit consent. For the analysis they're processed by an external AI provider, only to answer your request.
Upload photos and files you have the rights to, or that you use for personal study. Generating or importing a pattern doesn't transfer the intellectual property of the original design, and we don't remove watermarks. If some content infringes your rights, you can report it to us.
To upload photos and PDFs, analyze them and talk to Lana, yes. Downloaded projects, the guide and the counter also work offline.
We're finishing tests with real pieces. The app is coming to the App Store and Google Play: the links will appear here as soon as it's available.
